The age of Nadi astrology is about 2000 years and above.  In an earlier period, the Siddhas are the people who are the great preachers of god. They used to appear in different forms and different places with the power, they got from Lord shiva. As Lord Shiva was pleased with their devotion/dedication, the Siddhas were granted with the ESP power (special powder to predict the human lives in past,present and future. The siddhas then engraved the predictions onto the palm leaves/olai suvadi/Nadi leaves. Not every person’s lifetime events are engraved onto the palm leaves, only if they were related to these saints in the poorva janma(earlier birth).

Olai suvadi /Nadi leaves were engraved in sanskrit. Sanskrit is the oldest language and is the mother of all languages. Serfoji II,King of Tanjore stored these palm leaves in Palace’s library,’Saraswathy Mahal’. Later he translated into ancient Tamil scripts,called Vatellethu. After British possession, few Nadi leaves were acquired by them, few thrown and few got destroyed and the remaining few Nadi leaves have been carefully preserved by the astrologers families who were in Vaitheeswaran temple and it was taken from generation to generation,and not to the public.
